Enervest has announced three team promotions as it strengthens its leadership and project capabilities to support the next phase of growth.

Kevin Heydt has been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Ben Cerini has been promoted to General Manager, Energy Markets, and Olivia Huitema has been promoted to Senior Planning and Engagement Officer.

The appointments support a development portfolio of approximately 2.5 GW of grid-scale battery projects and a substantive portfolio of sub-5 MW distribution-connected assets.

Enervest CEO Ross Warby said: “These promotions recognise the contribution Kevin, Ben and Olivia have made to Enervest and the important role they will play in our next phase of growth. As our projects progress, their leadership and expertise will help us turn a strong development pipeline into infrastructure that supports a more reliable, affordable electricity system.

“Investing in our people is central to that ambition. We want to give talented people the opportunity to grow with the business, while building a diverse team with the skills and experience to deliver lasting value for our communities and partners.”

Kevin Heydt appointed Chief Operating Officer

Kevin steps into the role of Chief Operating Officer from General Manager, Development. He brings extensive experience originating, developing and operating wind, solar and battery storage projects across Australia, the United States and Europe.

His career includes senior roles at Acciona Energia, BayWa r.e. and EDF, as well as investment-focused organisations including Renew PowerGroup and Allco Finance Group. His technical expertise and commercial insight will support Enervest as its portfolio progresses through development and towards delivery.

Ben Cerini promoted to General Manager, Energy Markets

Ben brings more than 11 years of energy sector experience across Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom, spanning policy, financial modelling, regulatory interpretation and commercial optimisation.

Previously Energy Markets Manager at Firm Power and an adviser at Cornwall Insight Australia and the New York Power Authority, Ben has advised on more than 30 business cases across solar, wind and battery storage.

His expertise in market risk, revenue strategy and offtake structuring will help shape Enervest’s commercial approach across its utility-scale and distribution-connected portfolios as projects move towards financial close.

Olivia Huitema promoted to Senior Planning and Engagement Officer

Olivia’s promotion is her second since joining Enervest in September 2024. She works across the portfolio, combining strategic planning and community engagement expertise to support project development and build relationships with local residents, community groups, councils and Traditional Owners.

Olivia undertakes site feasibility assessments and leads the development and delivery of engagement strategies and tailored benefit-sharing frameworks. Drawing on her understanding of local contexts, she translates stakeholder priorities into practical strategies that align project objectives with community needs. Her expanded role reinforces the importance of integrating planning and engagement early in project development to inform decision-making and deliver positive, lasting outcomes for projects and local communities.

Enervest’s in-house team now comprises 30 people across Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with expertise spanning investment, energy markets, development, construction, engineering and stakeholder engagement. Together, the team supports projects across their lifecycle, creating long-term value for communities, customers and investors.
